Who are we?

Historic Paranormal Research is comprised of a group of individuals open to the possibility of the existence of the paranormal. We do not hold a specific stace on the paranormal, nor do we ask such of our members, however it is essential that the group be open to the possibility of the paranormal in order for the research to be effective.

As a result of our open beliefs, our team is comprised of individuals from many different walks of life. The Historic Paranormal Research group has had investigators from a wide variety of backgrounds from the very scientific and technical to psychics and mediums. The important factor in building a team of researchers is diversity, open dialogue and peer review.

Our beginning:

The Historic Paranormal Research group was founded because Dan Sturges and Dan Tisher decided that evidence of the paranormal, if it exists, is hard to come by and the incidence of occurance is very low. As a result, collecting meaningful evidence would requre equipment to be placed at a location on a continual basis making inhabited dwellings impractical for this type of research as it would be too invasive. Sturges and Tisher realized the value that reportedly 'haunted' historic venues provide to paranormal research because these venues offer a very controlled, consistent setting for the collection of data. In return, the historical sites are given the opportunity for us to gather evidence which may be used to learn about the previous occupants and/or events of a historical site.
